Tiffany’s Maleny was the setting for Jenelle and Jayson’s ceremony, with its beautiful hinterland outlook and sweeping views toward the Glass House Mountains creating such a memorable place for them to say their vows. Tiffany’s has long been known as one of the Sunshine Coast’s standout wedding venues, and it is easy to understand why couples are drawn to it. The setting feels elevated and scenic, while still holding onto that calm, relaxed feeling the hinterland does so well.

The day began at Tranquil Park Maleny, where Jenelle and Jayson got ready before heading to Tiffany’s for the ceremony. Tranquil Park also hosted the reception, which gave the celebration a lovely sense of continuity from the quieter parts of the day through to the evening. The space worked beautifully for their guests, with a warm and welcoming atmosphere that felt easy to settle into. It was one of those celebrations where everyone could relax and be present, and that always shapes the feel of the day in the best way.

For portraits, we moved between a couple of unique locations within the Maleny area. Each location brought something different, from wide open views to softer, more intimate moments between the two of them. The sunset portraits especially felt like such a highlight, with the rolling landscape and soft evening light framing everything so naturally. How to Plan for Golden Hour Photos Without Missing Your Reception

Golden hour photos are one of those parts of the wedding day that almost everyone wants, but not everyone plans for properly. The light is softer, the skin tones look better, and everything tends to feel a little more relaxed once the formalities are out of the way. The tricky part is making space for it without disappearing from your own reception for too long. The good news is that with a well-structured timeline, you really can have both.

The biggest thing to know is that golden hour does not happen at the same time every wedding day. It shifts depending on the season and your location, so it should be worked into your timeline intentionally rather than guessed on the day. A good rule is to allow around 45 minutes for golden hour photos. That does not mean 45 minutes of nonstop posing. It gives enough room to step away, move to the best spot, ease into it, and create portraits that feel natural without needing to rush back after ten minutes.

The best way to make this work is to build it around your reception flow. In most cases, golden hour photos fit best after the ceremony and before your reception. Although in summer, it’s a bit later in the day, so slipping outside after your reception has started can sometimes work best. For example, many couples slip out after dinner service begins, between courses, or just after speeches if the timing lines up. This way, you are not missing the most social and energetic part of the night, and your guests are still happily eating, chatting, or being entertained while you step away briefly.

It also helps to let your planner, photographer, and venue know ahead of time that golden hour photos are a priority. When everyone is on the same page, the timeline can be structured to support it properly. Your photographer can check the sunset time, suggest the best window to leave, and make sure there is a nearby location ready to go. That planning makes a big difference because it keeps the whole thing feeling seamless rather than like an interruption.

At the end of the day, golden hour photos are usually worth it, but only when they are planned with intention. One of the most remarkable things about Riley’s View is how versatile the property is. After the ceremony, Crissy and Michael wandered through the hills for portraits, golden light wrapping around them as the sun began to dip behind the mountains. They explored rustic fences, open paddocks, and even a quiet creek lined with lush trees. Each setting offered something different while remaining cohesive and natural. The variety meant their gallery felt expansive without ever needing to leave the venue grounds.

The reception space blends modern comfort with country charm. The light-filled house and surrounding deck created a relaxed atmosphere where guests could mingle, enjoy drinks from the vintage Kombi bar by Dolci & Co, share pizzas served by Farmer Brown, and graze from a beautifully styled table by The Grazing Place as the sun set over the hills. The layout allows for both intimate gatherings and larger celebrations, giving couples flexibility in how they want their day to unfold. With Confetti Cake Co who designed their wedding cake, it added a sweet finishing touch and Colliercolliers Entertainment keeping the energy up well into the evening, the whole setting felt elevated without being formal, refined without losing warmth.

They had sparkulars and a champagne tower, which was a crowd favorite. It was the perfect way to kick off the festivities, setting the tone for the rest of the celebration.

For us, we have a small team of photographers who we train and work alongside often. This is so on your wedding day when you do choose 2 photographers, we are working together to capture your entire day.

What are the benefits of a 2nd photographer?

Apart from all the extra photos you will receive from having your day captured by 2 professional photographers, here are a few more benefits:

• Photography at both the bride and grooms places of getting ready at the same time

• They will often arrive to the ceremony earlier so can capture your ceremony location details, guests arrive, photos with the groom and family prior to the ceremony

• During the Ceremony: A 2nd photographer will focus on the more ‘candid’ moments. While your main photographer is focusing on ‘You’ your 2nd will be looking out for your family and close friends reactions and some extra creative shots.

• During Family photos: Your 2nd photographer will be photographing your guests, the canapes, the scenery

• During Bridal Party Photos: Your second photographer will be looking for extra creative angles, assist with equipment (Which allows your main photographer more freedom to be taking more photos), They will also focus on your bridal party. Depending on timing and locations, they may also sneak off a bit earlier to get some photos of your reception room before your guests enter.

• During Reception: They focus on lots of candid moments and details (They are like a fly on the wall), for the formalities - your 2nd photographer is creating a second angle and an extra set of eyes amongst your guests.
