Stunning Wedding Celebrations at Western Ridge, Glamorgan Vale - Megan & Bailey

Western Ridge Weddings in Glamorgan Vale is the kind of venue that makes a wedding feel like a full weekend celebration, not just one day. For Meagan and Bailey, it brought everything together in one private country estate, with the ceremony, reception, and luxury accommodation all in the same place. With panoramic views, open lawns, and that relaxed country setting, Western Ridge created such a beautiful backdrop for their day.

Western Ridge in Glamorgan Vale wedding for Brisbane wedding Photography and Videography

The ceremony was originally planned to take place outdoors, with Western Ridge’s panoramic views as the backdrop, but the rain had other plans. Thankfully, with all the guests help, we were able to quickly change the ceremony location just moments before Megan walked down the aisle.

Instead of taking away from the day, the indoor ceremony added a warm, intimate feel, with everyone gathered close as Meagan and Bailey exchanged their vows. It was such a beautiful reminder that even when the weather shifts, a great venue and supportive team can make everything feel calm, seamless, and just as special.

One of the best parts of Western Ridge is how naturally the day can flow. After the ceremony, guests can move into canapés on the lawn, soak up golden hour, and enjoy the space without needing to travel between locations. It keeps the whole day feeling seamless, which is such a win for couples who want more time with their guests and less time worrying about logistics.

As the evening unfolded, Megan and Bailey’s reception continued outdoors in the marquee, with warm lights, long tables, and the rain adding such a cosy atmosphere around them. It made the whole dinner feel intimate and relaxed, with everyone gathered together while still enjoying the country estate setting. Later in the night, the celebration moved back inside for their first dance and the party, where the energy really picked up. Their incredible celebrant, MC, and DJ, Married by Luke helped carry the whole day so seamlessly, bringing his humour, wit, and easygoing energy from the ceremony right through to the dance floor.

The extra details also made the night feel fun and memorable, including the photobooth by Signature Event Hire, which gave guests another way to enjoy the celebration and capture the silly, happy moments in between.

Western Ridge Weddings really is such a special option for couples wanting a country wedding venue near Glamorgan Vale that brings everything together in one place.

Countryside weddings at Maleny, QLD

Tiffany’s Maleny was the setting for Jenelle and Jayson’s ceremony, with its beautiful hinterland outlook and sweeping views toward the Glass House Mountains creating such a memorable place for them to say their vows. Tiffany’s has long been known as one of the Sunshine Coast’s standout wedding venues, and it is easy to understand why couples are drawn to it. The setting feels elevated and scenic, while still holding onto that calm, relaxed feeling the hinterland does so well.

Countryside Weddings at Tiffany's Maleny for Brisbane Wedding Photography and Videography

The day began at Tranquil Park Maleny, where Jenelle and Jayson got ready before heading to Tiffany’s for the ceremony. Tranquil Park also hosted the reception, which gave the celebration a lovely sense of continuity from the quieter parts of the day through to the evening. The space worked beautifully for their guests, with a warm and welcoming atmosphere that felt easy to settle into. It was one of those celebrations where everyone could relax and be present, and that always shapes the feel of the day in the best way.

For portraits, we moved between a couple of unique locations within the Maleny area. Each location brought something different, from wide open views to softer, more intimate moments between the two of them. The sunset portraits especially felt like such a highlight, with the rolling landscape and soft evening light framing everything so naturally. Jenelle and Jayson looked completely at ease together, and those locations gave them the perfect space to slow down and enjoy that part of the day.

The details of the day also came together so beautifully thanks to the vendor team behind it. Planning support from Tiffany’s Maleny staff helped shape a wedding that felt thoughtful and well-paced, while Lisa Brereton led the ceremony in a way that suited the couple and the setting so well. Jenelle’s look felt classic and elegant, with her dress by Wendy Makin bringing a clean, modern feel that photographed beautifully against the landscape with Jayson looking sleek in his suit from Oscar Hunt. Jenelle’s hair by Lulu Beauty completed everything perfectly, keeping the overall look soft, refined, and effortless.

What stood out most across the whole day was how well the locations complemented each other. Tiffany’s Maleny gave the ceremony that classic Sunshine Coast hinterland setting, while Tranquil Park Maleny offered a relaxed and comfortable place for the getting ready moments and reception. Jenelle and Jayson’s wedding was intimate and came together so naturally, and with accommodating staff and a beautiful mix of locations, it was the perfect celebration of the two of them.

How to Plan for Golden Hour Photos Without Missing Your Reception

Golden hour photos are one of those parts of the wedding day that almost everyone wants, but not everyone plans for properly. The light is softer, the skin tones look better, and everything tends to feel a little more relaxed once the formalities are out of the way. The tricky part is making space for it without disappearing from your own reception for too long. The good news is that with a well-structured timeline, you really can have both.

How to plan for golden hour photos for Brisbane wedding photography and videography

The biggest thing to know is that golden hour does not happen at the same time every wedding day. It shifts depending on the season and your location, so it should be worked into your timeline intentionally rather than guessed on the day. A good rule is to allow around 45 minutes for golden hour photos. That does not mean 45 minutes of nonstop posing. It gives enough room to step away, move to the best spot, ease into it, and create portraits that feel natural without needing to rush back after ten minutes.

The best way to make this work is to build it around your reception flow. In most cases, golden hour photos fit best after the ceremony and before your reception. Although in summer, it’s a bit later in the day, so slipping outside after your reception has started can sometimes work best. For example, many couples slip out after dinner service begins, between courses, or just after speeches if the timing lines up. This way, you are not missing the most social and energetic part of the night, and your guests are still happily eating, chatting, or being entertained while you step away briefly.

It also helps to let your planner, photographer, and venue know ahead of time that golden hour photos are a priority. When everyone is on the same page, the timeline can be structured to support it properly. Your photographer can check the sunset time, suggest the best window to leave, and make sure there is a nearby location ready to go. That planning makes a big difference because it keeps the whole thing feeling seamless rather than like an interruption.

How to plan for golden hour photos for Brisbane wedding photography and videography

At the end of the day, golden hour photos are usually worth it, but only when they are planned with intention. Giving yourself about 45 minutes and placing that time carefully within the reception means you get those warm, glowy portraits without feeling like you missed half the night. The goal is not to choose between beautiful photos and being present. It is to create a timeline that gives you space for both.

Happy wedding planning xoxo

Intimate Weddings at Riley’s View - Crissy & Michael

Crissy and Michael chose Riley’s View as the perfect venue for their wedding, and it truly made their day unforgettable. From the moment guests arrived, the landscape spoke for itself. Rolling green hills stretched endlessly into the distance, cattle grazing quietly in the background, and mountain ranges framing the horizon. Their ceremony, led by Ceremonies with Danielle, took place beneath a floral arbour beautifully arranged by Your Somerset Florist and overlooking the valley, where every seat had a breathtaking view. It felt open, peaceful, and deeply personal, as if the land itself was part of the celebration.

Riley's View Wedding for Brisbane Photography and Videography

One of the most remarkable things about Riley’s View is how versatile the property is. After the ceremony, Crissy and Michael wandered through the hills for portraits, golden light wrapping around them as the sun began to dip behind the mountains. They explored rustic fences, open paddocks, and even a quiet creek lined with lush trees. Each setting offered something different while remaining cohesive and natural. The variety meant their gallery felt expansive without ever needing to leave the venue grounds.

The reception space blends modern comfort with country charm. The light-filled house and surrounding deck created a relaxed atmosphere where guests could mingle, enjoy drinks from the vintage Kombi bar by Dolci & Co, share pizzas served by Farmer Brown, and graze from a beautifully styled table by The Grazing Place as the sun set over the hills. The layout allows for both intimate gatherings and larger celebrations, giving couples flexibility in how they want their day to unfold. With Confetti Cake Co who designed their wedding cake, it added a sweet finishing touch and Colliercolliers Entertainment keeping the energy up well into the evening, the whole setting felt elevated without being formal, refined without losing warmth.

What truly sets Riley’s View apart, though, is the heart behind it. The owners, Jen and Kevin, are the kindest people and went above and beyond to ensure every detail was flawlessly executed. Their calm presence throughout the day made Crissy and Michael feel completely at ease, and that energy carried through to their guests.

Riley's View Wedding for Brisbane Photography and Videography

Whether you’re planning a large celebration or something more intimate, Riley’s View offers the perfect blend of natural beauty and exceptional service. As a new wedding venue, it already feels timeless, and it’s easy to see why couples are beginning to fall in love with it.

The benefits in a second photographer

Can a wedding be captured by a single photographer? Absolutely!

A single professional photographer can certainly capture your wedding day by them selves but there are a few advantages in having a 2nd photographer work alongside your main photographer.

For us, we have a small team of photographers who we train and work alongside often. This is so on your wedding day when you do choose 2 photographers, we are working together to capture your entire day.

What are the benefits of a 2nd photographer?

Apart from all the extra photos you will receive from having your day captured by 2 professional photographers, here are a few more benefits:

  • Photography at both the bride and grooms places of getting ready at the same time

  • They will often arrive to the ceremony earlier so can capture your ceremony location details, guests arrive, photos with the groom and family prior to the ceremony

  • During the Ceremony: A 2nd photographer will focus on the more ‘candid’ moments. While your main photographer is focusing on ‘You’ your 2nd will be looking out for your family and close friends reactions and some extra creative shots.

  • During Family photos: Your 2nd photographer will be photographing your guests, the canapes, the scenery

  • During Bridal Party Photos: Your second photographer will be looking for extra creative angles, assist with equipment (Which allows your main photographer more freedom to be taking more photos), They will also focus on your bridal party. Depending on timing and locations, they may also sneak off a bit earlier to get some photos of your reception room before your guests enter.

  • During Reception: They focus on lots of candid moments and details (They are like a fly on the wall), for the formalities - your 2nd photographer is creating a second angle and an extra set of eyes amongst your guests.

Your wedding day happens once and it deserves to be fully captured. Having a second photographer means more moments, more angles, and more memories preserved without missing a beat.

If you want a complete, stress-free story of your dat, from the quiet behind the scenes moments to unforgettable celebrations, consider adding a second photographer to your wedding coverage. It’s a small decision that makes all the difference.

Choosing the Right Location for your Engagement Session

Choosing the right location for your engagement session plays a big role in how your photos feel. The best location isn’t about what’s trending or what looks impressive online, but what reflects who you are together. When a place feels familiar or meaningful, it’s easier to relax, move naturally, and be present with each other. That comfort always shows in the photos.

Engagement session in the City

City locations are a great option for couples who love movement, structure, and a modern feel. Urban sessions offer variety, from leafy streets and hidden laneways to open spaces with skyline views. They’re ideal if you enjoy walking, exploring, or simply being out and about together. The city brings energy into the session while still allowing for quiet, candid moments that feel effortless and real.

Engagements session at the Beach

Beach sessions are all about ease and connection. The open space, soft light, and gentle movement of the water create a calm atmosphere that naturally slows everything down. Whether you’re standing barefoot at the shoreline or sitting together on the rocks, beach locations encourage closeness without needing direction. These sessions often feel timeless and intimate, perfect for couples who prefer simplicity and space.

Engagement session at the Park

Parks and green spaces offer a relaxed middle ground between city and coast. They’re especially suited to couples who love nature but want to stay close to home. Tree-lined paths, open lawns, and tucked-away corners allow for natural movement and quiet moments without feeling staged. Parks also change with the seasons, adding subtle texture and character to your images.

Ultimately, the best engagement location is one that feels like you. Whether that’s a city street, the beach, or a favourite park, choosing a place where you feel comfortable will always lead to more genuine photos. If you’re unsure where to start, I’m always happy to help guide you toward a location that suits your story. Reach out, and we can choose a setting that feels natural, intentional, and true to who you are together.

Should I have a Photo Booth at my wedding?

As a wedding photographer, I’ve always believed that the beauty of a wedding day lies in its moments—each one unique, and all worth remembering. While we focus on the big moments like the ceremony and first dance, there’s something about the fun and spontaneous moments at the photo booth that really capture the heart of the celebration. The photo booth is not just a fun add-on; it is a way to preserve the laughter, excitement, and joy of your wedding day in an entirely unique way.

One of the best things about having a photo booth at your wedding is how it effortlessly captures the fun and laughter that naturally unfold as your guests let loose. While the formal portraits are beautiful and meaningful, the photo booth adds an element of spontaneity and lightheartedness. It is the perfect way for your friends and family to step away from the formalities and embrace their silly side. With props in hand and grins from ear to ear, your guests will create some candid and fun photos of the day.

Images above feature Signature Event Hire at Western Ridge, Glamorgan Vale

But it is not all about the laughs. The beauty of a photo booth is that it also creates keepsakes. These are not just any souvenirs, they are personalized, fun snapshots that your guests will cherish. Whether it is a goofy snapshot of your college friends in oversized sunglasses or a heartfelt moment with family members, these photos become lasting memories that your guests will treasure long after the wedding. It is an experience that goes beyond the event itself, leaving everyone with something tangible to remember the day by.

From a photographer’s perspective, the photo booth provides a different type of photography that we do not always capture in traditional wedding portraits. It offers a playful contrast to the more posed photos, letting everyone embrace the celebration with a sense of freedom. The photo booth becomes a space where every guest can feel involved, adding a bit of their own personality and flair to the day. It is one of those little details that can make a big impact, offering an additional layer of joy and laughter to your wedding, while creating memories that everyone will remember for years to come.

When it comes to creating an incredible wedding reception, few things set the tone like great music. It’s what gets guests on their feet, fuels the energy throughout the night, and creates the atmosphere you’ll remember forever. That’s why hiring a professional wedding DJ is one of the best decisions you can make for your big day. They don’t just play music; they read the room, adapt to the crowd, and keep the celebration flowing from the first dance to the last song - and let’s admit from a photography and videography perspective, we LOVE a full dance floor :)

Wedding photography for best music to play at wedding reception

A great DJ knows how to create a perfect balance between those romantic, slow-dance moments and the fun, high-energy tracks that get everyone moving. From your grand entrance to your first dance and late-night party songs, they’ll curate a playlist that fits your personalities and keeps guests engaged. Think smooth transitions, perfectly timed beats, and a sound system that fills the room without overpowering it. It’s that kind of skill that transforms an ordinary reception into a night your guests won’t stop talking about.

As photographers and videographers, we see how much of a difference the right music makes. A lively crowd means genuine smiles, spontaneous dancing, and unforgettable reactions—the kind of natural, joy-filled moments that make for the best photos and films. When the energy is high and the atmosphere feels effortless, those emotions come through beautifully in every frame. Whether it’s a teary-eyed slow dance or an all-out party on the dance floor, great music gives life to every shot we capture.

Music sets the tone for your reception, influencing both the mood of your guests and the moments captured in your photos and video. The right songs create lasting memories, adding an extra layer of magic to your wedding day. As you finalize your playlist, keep in mind how these tunes will enhance your celebration. And when it’s time to capture those unforgettable moments, we’ll be there to make sure they’re beautifully preserved.

While you might have a list of favourite songs on spotify, a phone play list just doesn’t have the same effect as a professional DJ who is reading the room.

If you’re planning your wedding, talk with your DJ about what kind of vibe you want for the night. Share a few favorite songs, but trust their expertise in reading the crowd and creating a seamless flow. After all, the best celebrations happen when everyone’s in the moment, laughing, dancing, and celebrating love. And we’ll be right there to capture it all as it unfolds.

Seasonal Wedding Colors for Every Season

When planning your wedding, choosing the right colors is essential to setting the tone and mood for your big day. Seasonal wedding colors can help bring your vision to life, whether you're aiming for a cozy winter celebration or a vibrant summer affair. The right color palette enhances not only your décor but also your Brisbane wedding photography and videography, capturing the essence of the season in every shot.

Seasonal wedding colors for every season for beautiful Brisbane wedding photography

In the cooler months, consider deeper tones like burgundy, navy, and gold. These colors bring a rich, intimate vibe to your wedding. You can pair them with luxurious fabrics like velvet and satin for added elegance. For Brisbane winter weddings, think about incorporating soft metallics into your bridal party attire or table settings to add warmth and sophistication. These colors are perfect for creating timeless photos that will look stunning in your wedding album.

As spring arrives, lighter shades take over, offering a fresh and romantic atmosphere. Soft pastels like blush pink, lavender, and sage green are ideal for this season. They blend beautifully with the blooming flowers, creating a serene and romantic feel. For a wedding in Brisbane, these delicate colors pop against the backdrop of lush gardens or soft natural light, making your wedding day photos feel fresh and airy.

For summer, vibrant and bold colors are always a hit. Bright hues like coral, turquoise, and sunshine yellow evoke a sense of fun and joy. These lively colors work well in outdoor venues or beach weddings, providing a beautiful contrast to the natural surroundings. Summer weddings captured through videography also thrive in these bright colors, as they bring energy to the film and evoke a carefree, celebratory vibe.

Finally, autumn weddings often embrace earthy tones like burnt orange, deep red, and rich browns. These colors complement the changing leaves and cooler weather, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. For your wedding in Brisbane, autumn colors offer a cozy yet elegant feel, perfect for intimate gatherings. Whether you're planning a rustic wedding or a refined celebration, autumn hues never fail to bring a sense of warmth and romance to the day.

No matter the season, selecting the right colors for your wedding is key to creating a memorable day that shines in your wedding photos and videography.
